It was tempting to just throw a burger recipe in here because thats what we love to have with Merlot on the regular—however that just seemed a little too lazy. What we stumbled upon was actually much, MUCH better. We highly recommend giving Losh Kebabs a try! If you’re unfamiliar with the dish, it is an Armenian Grilled Meat seasoned with onion, red bell pepper, parsley, tomato paste, allspice, and biber salçasi and it is Delicious!
The addition of biber salçasi (a thick paste made from red peppers) in this recipe really creates a new flavor profile that we never knew we needed. Don’t worry—it’s easily found online if you don’t live near a Middle Eastern grocer. We may never go back to a regular burger now that we have had this much more interesting recipe!
Losh Kebabs pair wonderfully with Merlot for all of the reasons you would expect. The rich fattiness and well developed flavor or the meat perfectly compliment to bold, fruit forward nature of the wine. Try this one, you won’t regret it!
